Baseboards and Steps done, almost finished!

Dad came down and laid the steps on the edge of the sunken living and the baseboards, as well as the trim on top of the tall wood in the sunken living room.

Also, Elizabeth finished the outdoor table and it looks great! And we had a cat for one night.

Outside Patio for Grill is done

Alex finished laying pavers for the patio for the grill. I just need to sweep the excess sand up, and we'll have a nice, covered, out of the way area to keep the grill.

More Living Room Progress, Outdoor Upgrades

Elizabeth and Paige painted the rest of the living room trim today. Alex and Elizabeth bought a outdoor patio set and painted it green with spray paint, and it looks really nice. I got quarter round and primed and painted it for dad to get here later this week, and primed and painted the wood by the steps. Alex also laid pavers for the grill, but they're half an inch off on the edge, so it'll take some cutting. We also have an overobundance of pool toys, including a donut and pretzel.

Furniture in and Re-arranged

Elizabeth and I cleaned off the floors today and moved the furniture back in. Ryan suggested a new furniture layout which we all agreed on, so the TV is now covering up the never-to-be-used fireplace. The whole room seems so much bigger now, and since we have furniture covering where you could fall in, no need for rails! We'd like to get a reclining couch to lean back over the higher up portion. Elizabeth also painted most of the brown wood trim to white today, which makes the place look so much newer. I love the way it's turned out thus far.

Floors are Done!

The floors and the three transition pieces were finished up last night, but we're still waiting on the step pieces to come in. These pieces go at the edge and overlap with each lower level.

We still need to finish up painting the walls, start priming and painting the dark wood trim, and paint some of the boards around the inside of the sunken living room. We also need to lay the base boards for the upper part and trim for the lower part.

We also ended up with a few last minute power tool purchases, including a compound miter saw that somehow fit in my car. Pictures below!
